one of the most famous economists worldwide, Stiglitz has become a high profile and outspoken critic of fundamentalist globalisation and privatisation politics. Stiglitz knows what he is talking about. Before changing allegiance he was not only economic advisor to US-President Clinton but also chief economist of the World Bank, one of the driving forces behind the worldwide globalisation and privatisation politics. After critisizing neoliberal politics of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organisation he had to leave the World Bank. Today he teaches at Columbia University in the North of Manhattan.
